At Thomson Reuters, we are committed to creating shared value for our customers, employees and the communities in which we work. This includes respecting and protecting the environment and collectively we refer to this as our Corporate Responsibility profile.
Corporate Responsibility is something which we work to embed in our business; it is not a bolt on to our commercial activities and we are committed to being open and transparent about our performance in this area. We use a range of metrics to ensure that our programs make progress and deliver real results. One set of metrics used to drive our performance is environmental, social and governance (ESG) data from ASSET 4, a Thomson Reuters business which provides ESG data on over 3800 companies.
ESG information can provide insights to how a business is performing across Corporate Responsibility activities and can point to the longer term sustainability of a business.
Social
The social pillar measures a company's capacity to generate trust and loyalty with its workforce, customers and society, through its use of best management practices. It is a reflection of the company's reputation and the health of its license to operate, which are key factors in determining its ability to generate long term shareholder value.
