Community
As a global organization, we operate in, and draw strength from, communities and societies around the world.
Sharing our skills and resources with the communities where we live, work and do business, is a key element of our corporate responsibility.
While our community support efforts are diverse, all are focused on building strong, collaborative relationships in the social and business communities where we operate. Our aim is to add value to important community initiatives, while enhancing our own understanding of the people and places we serve. The result is a sustainable approach to community support that benefits everyone involved.
We fulfill our responsibility to serve and strengthen communities through a variety of corporate initiatives and individual actions, including the following:
Community Champion Awards Program
Established in 2001, the Community Champion Awards program distributes grants to help fund significant community projects around the world - from the cities of Europe and Asia to small villages in Africa.
Matching Gifts
We also support our employees' giving through a global matching gift program. Employees may apply for a grant to qualifying charities, which will match their financial giving or their commitment of more than 40 hours of annual volunteer time.
Volunteering
We encourage volunteering by enabling all Thomson Reuters staff to take 2 business days per year to volunteer.
Thomson Reuters Foundation
Established in 1982, the Thomson Reuters Foundation is the charitable arm of Thomson Reuters. A registered charity in the US and UK, the Foundation leverages the skills and expertise across our businesses to improve the standards of journalism, to save lives through the provision of trusted information, and to increase trust and access to the rule of law. The Foundation's website, trust.org, integrates its humanitarian programs and serves as a portal for its global community of partners.
Our philanthropic efforts are focused on supporting non-profit organizations local to our operations around the world. Thomson Reuters does not respond to unsolicited requests for funding.
