Yuko Kawamoto is a professor at Waseda University.  She is also a columnist for the Nikkei newspaper and Toyo Keizai weekly business journals, writing on Japan’s financial and economic sectors. Previously, Ms. Kawamoto she served as an advisor and panel member on a number of significant policy issues through several recent administrations. Ms. Kawamoto graduated from Tokyo University and holds a masters degree in development economics from the University of Oxford.

She is currently an independent director at the Osaka Stock Exchange, Monex Group, Yamaha Motor and Itochu Corporation, an independent auditor to Tokyo Marine holdings, an auditor at the board of Tokyo Jogakkan Schools for Women and a member of the advisory board of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group.
