David Craig

Executive Vice President & Chief Strategy Officer

David Craig is the Chief Strategy Officer responsible for corporate and business strategy across the businesses. He is also responsible for the corporate innovation team and front end customer strategy (FECS). David is a member of the executive committee, chairs the Chief Strategy Officer Council and sits on the Investment Committee. Following the acquisition announcement of Reuters by Thomson in May 2007, David was jointly responsible for the Integration planning for the $17bn Thomson Reuters deal which successfully completed in April 2008.

David was previously a partner at McKinsey working with exchanges, banks, technology and media companies. He led the global IT Strategy Practice and the Outsourcing and Offshoring Practices. Prior to McKinsey David was a senior partner at AMS (American Management Systems) implementing exchanges, risk and mobile telephone systems. David has published several papers on technology and strategy, including "IT as a competitive weapon" and "the M&A approach to Outsourcing". His implementation of the SwapClear service at London Clearing House won a Queen's award for Innovation in 2002.

David is also a trustee and has line responsibility for the Thomson Reuters Foundation. The Foundation provides training to journalists around the world, runs the Institute for Journalism at Oxford University and is the world's leading provider of news and emergency information in humanitarian crisis (www.alertnet.org).
