Roy M. Martin, Jr. is president and chief executive officer of Tax & Accounting, part of the Professional Division of Thomson Reuters. With more than 25 years of experience serving the information services and technology industry, Mr. Martin has led strategic initiatives and held operational roles across a wide-spectrum of businesses.
Prior to joining Tax & Accounting in 2005, Mr. Martin was president and chief executive officer of Thomson Dialog, where he led the transformation of the business into a leading provider of technical and business information for professionals.
Previously, Mr. Martin was executive vice president and chief strategy officer for Thomson Legal & Regulatory, where he was responsible for global growth initiatives, international expansion programs, the global roll-out of Westlaw, and acquisition strategies for Thomson's legal, tax and regulatory businesses.
Mr. Martin became part of Thomson in 1993 as an executive in the company's legal publishing business, and was later named executive vice president of West Online, where he led the development and launch of westlaw.com. Prior to joining Thomson, he spent over a decade in the computer systems and software industry and served as president of two public companies.
Mr. Martin is a graduate of Virginia Tech and holds an MBA from Emory University.
