Times of Crisis - A Multimedia Special

"Times of Crisis" is a multimedia interactive special, charting the global financial crisis since the collapse of Lehman Brothers – the largest bankruptcy in U.S. history.

Spanning 365 days of global change, it portrays a year of upheaval, which crippled industries and crushed hopes with a force not seen since the Great Depression.

This immersive multimedia package, built around an interactive visual timeline and a powerful web documentary, draws upon the full breadth of Reuters news coverage over the past year, with additional special reporting.

"Times of Crisis" offers a dynamic, layered narrative presenting hundreds of images, countless news stories and hours of video to show how lives around the globe have changed as a divergent world embarks on a new era of historic challenge.

The project was directed by the same team behind the Emmy-nominated piece "Bearing Witness", reflecting on over half a decade of war in Iraq.

“The crisis has been amongst the most significant events of our time - touching lives everywhere,” said Ayperi Karabuda Ecer, VP of Pictures and Graphics. “We have drawn upon every aspect of Reuters reporting, combining facts with emotion to tell the bigger story.”
