WIF 2012 takes a unique approach, pairing the country's top journalists with the world's most fascinating newsmakers for two days of enlightening interviews, spirited dialogue and working sessions on today's most pressing policy issues. Held at DC’s celebrated Newseum, the Washington Ideas Forum will gather over 800 influentials from Washington and around the country and world for a wide-range of interviews and debates, with conversation continuing into the evening during a series of roundtable dinners and social gatherings.

As an underwriter for the event, Thomson Reuters will have a significant presence at the forum. On Wednesday morning, Jason Thomas will participate on a Summit titled, "Disruptive Technology" and Sharon Sayles-Belton will participate on a Summit titled, "Education for the 21st Century."

On Wednesday evening we will host a roundtable dinner with The Atlantic, to discuss the current condition of the euro zone. The following Thomson Reuters delegates will be attending the dinner, Scott McClesky, Global Head of Financial Services Regulation, Nick Collier, Global Head of Government Affairs and Luke Baker, Brussels Bureau Chief, Reuters News.

On Thursday morning the 15th, we will host a breakfast panel focused on the influence of social media and disruptive technologies such as big data and analytics in decision making – financial markets, law enforcement, and fraud prevention. This panel moderated by Steve Rubley, Managing Director, Government will feature special guests John Boles, Deputy Assistant Director Cyber Division (FBI) and Michael Saylor, CEO of Microstrategy.

Onsite at the conference, the Thomson Reuters Knowledge Bar will feature an iPad table for Forum attendees to surf the web, check email and relax in between main stage programs. The iPads in the Knowledge Bar will feature the newly released, widely acclaimed, Wider Image App. We will also be using the Social Media platform Mass Relevance to provide a real-time selection of tweets from the conference.
