Black & White or A Hundred Shades of Grey?

The Business Case for Corporate Actions Standards.

CAPTION|REUTERS/Michaela RehleFifteen years after the birth of ISO 15022, corporate actions standards are at a crossroads with the arrival of 20022. Although representing an improvement and promising increased automation, 20022 has also brought along uncertainty on the anticipation of a costly fragmentation with no end date in sight.

In light of this, we have published this industry open letter with the objective to escalate the debate and bring resolution to the critical challenge of coexistence between ISO 15022 and ISO 20022. For this edition, we are delighted to bring together viewpoints from industry participants such as Brown Brothers Harriman, DTCC, Fidelity ActionsXChange, Information Mosaic, XSP, as well as Thomson Reuters addressing the following topics:

  • What are the potential challenges and impact to the community of having these two standards?
  • What actions can be taken to move forward?
  • Looking ahead, what lessons can we learn from today’s situation?
