Your Ticket to the 2012 Olympics
The New York Times and Reuters collaborate to deliver London Olympics News and Data
The New York Times (NYTimes.com) and Reuters (Reuters.com) have come together to launch an exclusive product available to online publishers for coverage of the 2012 Olympic Games in London. The collaboration brings together expertise from two trusted news providers who each have more than 100 years experience in covering the Olympics Games for global audiences.
This newly-developed publishing technology delivers high quality coverage across images, text and video with technology, tools and data displays including modules which can be easily embedded, ready to publish results pages and more. Additionally, real-time data results power customizable widgets and pages that display live results including medal counts and standings, athlete statistics and event schedules. The technology was developed by The New York Times.
The product is available at three tiers that integrate seamlessly into existing Web sites and is available to both new and existing customers of The Times and Reuters. In its simplest form, the product is a customizable widget that automatically displays data like medal counts and results, athlete stats and event schedules.
Publishers can also opt for hosted, customizable Web pages that incorporate athlete biographies, historical data broken down by sporting event and country, round-by-round results modules, breaking news and infographics.
The total access package includes fully customizable templates that may also feature the publisher’s own stories, slideshows and multimedia, combined with content provided by The Times and Reuters. All three "plug-and-play" packages feature space for sponsorships, the ability to add content in other languages and various options for layout and design. The Web page packages also include all of the content offered in the widget package and offer tech support provided by The Times and Reuters.
