Thomson Reuters and INSEAD to Produce Asia Business Sentiment Survey

Quarterly report will survey Asia’s leading corporations and their outlook for the next six months

Singapore – Thomson Reuters, the world's leading source of intelligent information for businesses and professionals, today announced a partnership with INSEAD, the leading international business school, to produce the Thomson Reuters/INSEAD Asia Business Sentiment Survey, a quarterly survey of Asia’s leading corporations and their outlook for the next six months.

The survey expands upon the previous Thomson Reuters Asia Corporate Sentiment index, launched in June 2010, with additional survey questions and an increase in the number of companies included, providing additional data and insight. The survey will be compiled quarterly and poll 275 senior executives at top companies across 11 countries in Asia and covers industries ranging from autos and financial to technology. The index will measure the change in companies’ outlook for the next six months, establishing if their outlook is turning positive or negative in the current economic climate. The first joint survey is due to be published by Reuters on March 22nd.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with Thomson Reuters on this exciting initiative which will produce insights into how firms in Asia view current and expected future economic conditions,” said Ilian Mihov, Deputy Dean of INSEAD. “Given that now Asia represents two of the world’s fastest-growing large economies and its share of world output continuously increases, we expect this survey to become a necessary and valuable tool for our understanding of the business dynamics in the region and in the global economy.”

“The relationship brings together INSEAD’s industry leading survey methodology and Reuters journalistic excellence. The result is unmatched in the region,” said Jean Yoon, deputy editor, Asia for Reuters.
