MDC Renamed Thomson Scientific IP Management Services
New Identity Emphasizes Broad Range of Services and Solutions for Managing and Protecting Intellectual Property Assets

Thomson Scientific, part of The Thomson Corporation (NYSE: TOC; TSX: TOC) and leading provider of information solutions to the worldwide research and business communities, today announced that Master Data Center (MDC), provider of IP management software and services, is now Thomson Scientific IP Management Services. The change in identity more accurately reflects the organization’s full range of services and signals the further alignment with the larger Thomson Corporation
IP Management Services, which has served the IP management needs of the world’s largest corporations and law firms for nearly 40 years, specializes in intellectual property portfolio management software, patent annuity and trademark renewal payment services, rules and consulting and professional services to help organizations manage their IP portfolio. IP Management Services became a Thomson Scientific business in 2004, as part of the IHI acquisition.
