Tax & Accounting The Only Software Provider Approved For All 1120 E-File States
The Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters, formerly Thomson Tax & Accounting, announced today that it is the only software provider approved for all 16 currently live 1120 e-file states. As a strategic partner in the Fed/State Corporate e-file initiative, Tax & Accounting’s leading tax preparation software, UltraTax CS, is the application of choice for many firms.
“Tax & Accounting is proud to be a part of the IRS e-file project,” said Teresa Mackintosh, CPA.CITP, Senior Vice President, CS Professional Suite, Thomson Reuters, Tax & Accounting. “The initiative provides registered transmitters and state agencies with a single point of submission and retrieval, while we provide our powerful tax prep application, UltraTax CS, to efficiently process and electronically file returns.”
Over the last few years, Tax & Accounting has received significant recognition for leadership in the area of electronic filing. In 2005, approximately 50% of electronically filed business returns were processed and e-filed using UltraTax CS. The company was also selected as the exclusive provider of electronic filing for the Regional Income Tax Agency of Ohio (RITA) for 2005 returns. In 2007, the company was the first to receive approval from California state officials for 1065 electronic filing, and in 2008 Tax & Accounting was the first software provider approved by Oregon and Idaho state agencies for 1120 e-filing.
“Our first goal is always to help our customers better serve their clients. Electronic filing is quickly becoming the norm, which is why we continue to partner with state agencies and the IRS to support and promote it,” stated Mackintosh.
