Tax & Accounting Adds Calendar to OneSource Tax Platform
Upgraded OneSourceCalendar Helps Corporate Tax Departments Track Compliance Due Dates
The Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters, formerly Thomson Tax & Accounting, recently released an enhanced calendar application — OneSource™ Calendar — in conjunction with integration into its OneSource Tax platform.
The OneSource Tax platform, which includes OneSource WorkFlow Manager and the OneSource Tax desktop dashboard for corporate tax departments, now offers enhanced tracking of due dates for income and sales & use tax filings, extensions, and payments.
“Corporate tax executives know that missing a statutory due date can result in costly penalties and interest payments,” said Michael Knighton, vice president of Corporate Workflow Tools at Tax & Accounting. “Due date monitoring and tracking of tax activities through OneSource Calendar helps ensure they never inadvertently miss a deadline.”
This new OneSource Calendar automatically populates tax events into their respective workflows to monitor both steps and events, and also integrates with Microsoft® Outlook and Lotus® Notes e-mail calendars. In addition, users can generate a wide range of calendar reports as well as certified mailers for tax returns and payments.
Other enhancements to the new OneSource Calendar include: the ability to create custom events; 24/7 Web-based access; automated scheduled event wizards; daily and weekly graphical calendar views; filtering by entities, topics, events, and jurisdictions; and more.
“Now corporate tax executives can gain even greater control over their department’s tax projects,” added Knighton. “OneSource Calendar provides enhanced tracking and increased visibility of key events to more easily comply with Sarbanes-Oxley, IRS, and jurisdiction requirements.”
