National Society of Accountants Designates Thomson Reuters as Exclusive Provider for CPE Webinars

The National Society of Accountants (NSA) and its affiliates, representing 40,000 U.S. tax and accounting members, has selected Thomson Reuters, under its Checkpoint Learning brand, as the exclusive affinity provider for webinars that award Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credit. The agreement also provides discounts on Checkpoint Learning self-study courses, RIA and Quickfinder research products, and CPE tracking tools.

“A cost-effective, comprehensive learning solution has never been more important among our members,” said NSA president Donny Woods. “The laws, rules, and standards that tax and accounting professionals follow are constantly changing and increasingly complex. Professionals must participate in CPE not only because it’s required to maintain their certifications, but also to keep up with these changes.”

“We’re excited to expand our relationship with the NSA, to include CPE webinar and online courses, as part of our continuing effort to bring practical and cost-effective learning opportunities to tax and accounting professionals,” said Ken Koskay, vice president of Learning Solutions for the Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters. “Through the ease and efficiency of Checkpoint Learning products, the professional will spend less time managing the CPE compliance process and more time on strategic business activities.”

With the expanded agreement, Thomson Reuters will provide the NSA with discounts on Checkpoint Learning online courses, webinars, CPE tracking and monitoring tools sold to its members. The agreement also provides NSA members with discounts on RIA Internal Revenue Code and Federal Tax Regulations, subscriptions to Quickfinder Tax Tips Newsletter, and Quickfinder Handbooks: Accounting & Bookkeeping and Depreciation.

Checkpoint Learning, award winner of Accounting Today’s top new Learning product for 2010 and 2011, is used by 90 of the top 100 U.S. CPA firms and over 60,000 tax and accounting professionals.
