Thomson Reuters Checkpoint Now Includes the Most Comprehensive Research and Regulatory Information Available for International Trade Professionals
Thomson Reuters has added the increasingly complex practice area of international trade to Checkpoint®, the online service that provides research, news, analysis, and productivity tools to tax, accounting, trade, and finance professionals.
Checkpoint now provides workflow tools and the most comprehensive information available for professionals who manage trade practices in corporations and law or accounting firms.
“Many U.S. Customs’ requirements are challenging — particularly those involving product classification and valuation,” said Keith Haurie, vice president for emerging products in the Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters. “Checkpoint now helps professionals navigate the continuously changing trade landscape and stay in compliance more easily, quickly, and confidently.”
Checkpoint includes a vast library of import and export related content. It integrates primary source materials — such as the Harmonized Tariff Schedule from the U.S. World Customs Organization (WCO) Council Explanatory Notes, the Code of Federal Regulations from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Rulings, free trade agreements, and trade cases from Thomson Reuters Westlaw® — with analytical content from trusted Thomson Reuters brands such as Boskage, WG&L®, and WorldTrade Executive.
Checkpoint users can save time by accessing all of the trade information needed for compliance, planning, and research through an easy-to-navigate interface. Features include:
- A customizable landing page with one-click access to frequently used information.
- Hyperlinked documents, terms, and sections to allow quick searching and to centralize sources in one place.
- One-click linking from the Harmonized Tariff Schedule to WCO Explanatory Notes, customs rulings and free trade agreements.
- Advanced keyword searches and custom search templates.
- Full text search of all free trade agreements.
Content on Checkpoint is updated as laws and regulations change, so professionals always have access to the most current information.
“Our Boskage brand has established a strong reputation for serving the trade community,” said Haurie. “By developing this dedicated practice area on Checkpoint, we are extending our commitment to deliver the most comprehensive suite of expert content and analysis, primary source information, and workflow tools. This release is the first in a series of new products on Checkpoint that will improve the productivity of international trade professionals.”
