Thomson Reuters' UltraTax CS™ Earns Highest Electronic Filing Acceptance Rate

The Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters, formerly Thomson Tax & Accounting, announced today that its leading tax preparation software, UltraTax CS, was ranked first with the IRS for federal 1040 electronic filing acceptance. Listed on the IRS’s 2007 Software Error Reject Code Report, UltraTax CS earned a 96.34% acceptance rate—the highest in the industry.

"Placing first is another indication of our dedication to excellence,” stated Teresa Mackintosh, CPA.CITP, Senior Vice President, Thomson Reuters, Tax & Accounting. "We work closely with our customers and the IRS to ensure UltraTax CS is the most comprehensive and powerful tax preparation software available to accountants. Testament to our commitment is the fact that we have earned an average acceptance rate of 95.6% the past four years and an acceptance rate of more than 96% this year.”

“Not only did UltraTax CS take first for overall acceptance rate, but also placed first in many categories listed in the IRS’s software error report, which means the number of rejections were minimal,” stated Brian Vroom, CPA, Vice President of Development, Thomson Reuters, Tax & Accounting. “This is a tremendous accomplishment considering how many federal 1040 returns were processed using UltraTax CS.”

Thomson Reuters staff members were informed of the 2007 Software Error Reject Code Report results at the IRS Software Developers Conference, which took place in June 2008.
