Thomson Reuters Expert to Speak at International Transfer Pricing Summit
Providing Insight into Transfer Pricing Software and Methodology
An industry expert from the Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters will provide information on transactional profit methods as well as software strategies at the International Transfer Pricing Summit. The conference will be held in London from March 24-26.
“Corporate tax professionals at multinational enterprises are currently facing challenges associated with their transfer pricing activities,” said Batanayi Katongera, senior manager of Transfer Pricing within the Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters. “Not only is there an increase in the complexity of transactions, but also an increase in the scrutiny of regulatory compliance. Leveraging the best methodologies and specialized software will relieve much of this burden as well as provide a solid foundation for efficient workflow.”
During his first presentation, Katongera will explain the differences and advantages of leading methodologies during his session on Transactional Profit Methods: a Most Appropriate State of Affairs. He will discuss the Fiscal Affairs’ Working Party No. 6 mandate as well as a comparison of the comparable profit method and transactional net margin (CPM and TNMM) methods.
In Katongera’s second presentation, he will describe the most practical uses and advantages of technology during his workshop on Software Strategies in Transfer Pricing. He will also address the application of transactional profit methods and provide insight into tax authority perspectives on software.
Katongera has extensive experience assisting corporations in the design, implementation, and management of their internal transfer pricing policies and documentation processes. He also assists clients with their transfer pricing controversy management process during audits by tax authorities. Katongera’s professional tax career started at KPMG, where he worked in Corporation Tax. At Grant Thornton, he became a Transfer Pricing senior manager and worked at Ernst & Young within the award winning London TESCM Group as a Transfer Pricing Tax advisor. Katongera holds an LLB in Law from the University of Kent. He also holds an LLM in International Economic Law from Warwick University.
