New research from Thomson Reuters Institute, conducted with assistance from the National Center for State Courts (NCSC), has found mounting challenges facing U.S State Courts. 68% report staffing shortages and 48% of court professionals don’t have enough time to get their work done. Yet only 17% of courts are currently using Generative AI - despite predictions that AI could save up to 9 hours a week within five years. With 98% of all U.S. court cases handled in State Courts, the report highlights how AI literacy could play a critical role in helping to build a more resilient, future-ready justice system. We’re excited to announce the outstanding achievements of this year’s IMPACTathon, where Thomson Reuters colleagues collaborated with 40 nonprofit organizations across six countries. Together, we delivered 1,392 hours of pro bono consulting—an impact valued at more than $306,000. This year’s event highlighted the power of skilled volunteering to drive meaningful change. Our teams harnessed innovative tools, including Open Arena—Thomson Reuters Labs’ secure AI sandbox—to elevate their projects and outcomes. Many consultants have also committed to ongoing support for their nonprofit partners, extending the IMPACTathon’s positive influence well beyond the event itself. What powers trusted AI? Trusted data. Last week, over 130 Thomson Reuters teammates from 11 global locations came together for our 2025 Data Trustathon—an internal hackathon focused on building trust in data at scale. With 27 cross-functional teams, participants tackled real business challenges across finance analytics, go-to-market intelligence, and synthetic data generation—exploring how transparency, consistency, and ethical data design directly impact the quality and reliability of AI. As a content-driven technology company, data integrity is foundational to how Thomson Reuters innovates, deploys AI, and serves professionals around the world. #WorkingAtTR #DataTrust #Hackathon #AIWithIntegrity #EnterpriseAI

AI adoption is finally moving beyond pilot purgatory. After a decade of false starts, we're seeing real transformation. Legal teams have been pioneering knowledge and research heavy AI use cases over the past two years. Now workflow-intensive industries like Tax and Audit are experiencing genuine productivity gains through agentic AI. The shift from "AI experiment" to "AI execution" is happening. Thanks to TBPN for having me on — let’s do it again soon. https://lnkd.in/gVfp86Wp #agenticAI #legaltech #taxtech #TBPN #ThomsonReuters

The legal profession is at a tipping point with AI adoption. While 48% of attorneys now use AI for research, the technology's double-edged nature is becoming clear. Pablo Arredondo, our VP of CoCounsel, recently spoke to Fortune on AI's role in the legal system and points to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure's century-old mandate for "just, speedy, and inexpensive" resolution of legal actions—words that, as he notes, don't describe today's U.S. litigation reality. However, this could change if courts adopt AI tools in a widespread and effective fashion. Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/eFPXWpNe

8 out of 10 professionals recognize AI as having a transformational or high impact on their work. While professionals overwhelmingly acknowledge AI's transformative potential, only 38% expect meaningful change at their organization this year. Even more concerning, 3 out of 10 professionals report their organizations are moving too slowly on AI adoption. More than half (53%) of surveyed professionals report their organizations are seeing ROI directly tied to AI investment, primarily through improved efficiency, productivity, response times, and error reduction. The disconnect between recognition and action represents both a challenge and an opportunity for forward-thinking organizations. The Thomson Reuters 2025 Future of Professionals report identifies a critical and growing divide in professional services: organizations with visible AI strategies are twice as likely to experience revenue growth compared to those with informal or ad-hoc approaches. This strategic gap puts organizations without defined AI plans at serious risk of being left behind within just a few years. The research, involving over 2,275 global professionals across legal, risk, compliance, tax, accounting, audit and global trade, reveals that having a strategic plan for AI adoption and implementation is becoming the single most distinguishing contributor to future success. The message is clear: organizations can no longer afford to approach AI adoption casually. Those that develop and communicate AI strategies are positioning themselves for sustained competitive advantage, while others risk falling increasingly behind. "As the Executive Sponsor of Pride at Work Brazil, I am proud to support initiatives that foster a safe and welcoming environment for everyone. I believe that visibility and advocacy are powerful drivers of positive change, especially for the LGBTQ+ community. As leaders, we have a responsibility to do more than offer support from the sidelines. By taking an active role, we can help drive meaningful change, create space for honest conversations, and ensure every voice is heard and valued at all levels of our organization. Inclusive environments lead to more engaged, creative, and productive teams. "To me, allyship and inclusivity are about more than words—they require daily action. I make it a priority to listen actively, challenge biases, and champion different perspectives in every interaction. I work to create opportunities for open dialogue and celebrate the unique strengths each team member brings. Whether supporting employee resource groups or mentoring colleagues, I am committed to fostering a culture where everyone feels empowered to be their authentic selves. "I believe that when leadership takes an active role in building inclusion and belonging, it sets a powerful example and helps to create lasting, positive change for everyone. I recently had the opportunity to participate in a Pride Month roundtable discussion at our office in Brazil, and I am looking forward to other initiatives during the month. I am proud to be part of a company that prioritizes inclusion and belonging, and I hope my commitment inspires others to step forward as allies and advocates as well." #WorkingAtTR Adriana, Professional Services Director
