Before, during and after
How well you process your trades today affects how well you can trade tomorrow. Reuters Deal Tracker solves post-trade headaches - but it can also help you set up a cycle of continuous improvement.
Before you trade
Be better prepared for incoming calls on Dealing on Reuters. The Reuters Deal Tracker Application and Reuters Deal Tracker Feed capture all your conversations and statistics. That means you can analyse your dealing activity in depth at any time, right across your global FX business.
As you trade
The head of desk can monitor all Dealing on Reuters conversations in real time. Help junior traders who need to buy or sell large amounts, for example. And you can also position-keep matched deals from Dealing on Reuters or EBS as they occur as well minimise losses by allowing unusual activity to be identified early.
After you trade
Create a single feed for all your incoming FX trades so you can create true straight-through processing. Store that data for efficient reporting and analyse it in depth... to improve future trading.
One feed, many virtues
Reuters Deal Tracker Server is an industry-standard STP gateway to pass trade data to all your internal trade processing systems. This gives you a single centralised straight-through processing feed from any deal captured from:
- Dealing on Reuters
- Matching on Reuters
- Reuters Trade Notification Service
- Other trading venues, such as EBS
You can have true STP for all your trades.
Analyse that trading data and identify missed opportunities, competitors who are offering better rates and more using Reuters Deal Tracker Application.
Reconcile all post-trade activity electronically using Reuters Deal Tracker Analyser to resolve counterparty queries quickly and create an online data warehouse for historical trade analysis and reporting.
Front-office: monitoring trade
Global FX trading needs global vision. Monitor real-time Dealing on Reuters conversations and call statistics across your global FX business to give each trading region both global and regional insight.
This requires the following components:
- A Reuters Deal Tracker Feed (DTF) for each chosen dealing (TCSS) code
- A Reuters Deal Tracker Application installed onto your desktop. The application connects to the feed through a standard TCP/IP connection. Each dealing code with DTF enabled can support up to eight desktop-connected Reuters Deal Tracker Applications
- For a global overview of all dealing codes, use Reuters Deal Tracker Server (DTS). This enables you to monitor up to 12 Dealing codes or 60 Dealing terminals from a single desktop using Reuters Deal Tracker Application
Back-office: reconcile and audit
Reconcile and audit Dealing on Reuters conversations and tickets, as well as Reuters Trade Notification Service broker notifications and deal capture from other trading systems. With this data flowing into your back office in real time, you can check for discrepancies straight away, and you can build a database that can be queried easily at any time for investigation further down the line.
This requires the following components:
- Reuters Deal Tracker Analyser and Reuters Deal Tracker Archiver connected to your dedicated Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle database stores post-trade history up to 10 years
- Reuters Deal Tracker Archiver captures all conversations and confirmed or matched tickets in real time
- A Thomson Reuters Dealing code with Reuters Deal Tracker Feed (DTF) and Reuters Ticket Output Feed (TOF) enabled to feed into Reuters Deal Tracker Server (DTS). This consolidates all your local and global post-trade feeds into a single output stream. You can have centralised global collection of all traded FX deals
- A Reuters Deal Tracker Server captures all TOF and DTF traffic locally, or you can globally connect to other Reuters Deal Tracker Servers for a centralised back-office solution
End-to-end flow
With Reuters Deal Tracker Server taking in feeds of high-quality data, you can feed multiple systems for straight-through processing and incisive trade analysis.
The various Reuters Deal Tracker products are designed to run on standard Windows®/Intel® platforms. They can operate equally effectively from a server in your computer room or a desktop PC.
The Deal Tracker Feed (DTF) is a real-time TCP/IP feed that sources data from your Reuters Dealing Transaction Client Site Server (TCSS). Set-up is remarkably straightforward; just connect the feed and enable it.
