ICD10 2013 logo As you prepare for the transition of the U.S. market adoption of the International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision, also known as ICD-10-CM (Clinical Modification) and ICD-10-PCS (Procedure Coding System), look to the expertise of Thomson Reuters to help you through this conversion.

Timing
ICD-10 codes must be used on all HIPAA transactions, including outpatient claims with dates of service, and inpatient claims with dates of discharge on and after October 1, 2013.

Our Plans
We are working on the necessary updates to our products and services.  We know that analytic integrity and the ability to trend results across the changing codes is important and we will work with our customers to identify where trending is appropriate to ensure that you can continue to measure patient quality, health care service opportunity, payment, and the efficacy of care. We plan to maintain and manage both ICD-9 and ICD-10 code sets, and provide a crosswalk from ICD-10 to ICD-9 where appropriate.

We recognize that the move to ICD-10 will be a period of transition that is occurring simultaneously with many other market changes. Ultimately, ICD-10 codes will enhance our products, methodologies and services increasing our ability to support our customers.
