Current Opinion in Molecular Therapeutics provides up-to-date documentation of all the major research in molecular medicine. Its topics encompass the broadest possible coverage of the subject, well organized, peer-reviewed and to clearly defined parameters.
SUBJECT DIVISION
The subject of molecular therapeutics is divided into six major sections, each of which is reviewed once a year:
• Molecular, viral and cell-based vaccines for disease prevention and therapy
• Oligonucleotide, antibody and peptide therapeutics – from design to the clinic
• Genomics, proteomics and pharmacogenetics – experimental approaches
• Gene transfer and cell-based therapies
• Clinical applications of gene therapy
• Genomics, proteomics and pharmacogenetics – therapeutic approaches
“ Current Opinion in Molecular Therapeutics reviews novel emerging options for the treatment of disease. By integrating genome sciences with modern drug development, a well-balanced overview of these novel pharmaceuticals and their expected impact on modern medicine is provided ...”

With Current Opinion in Molecular Therapeutics, you can:
- Read the views of experts on current advances in molecular therapeutics in a clear and readable form.
- Systematically follow developments highlighted by specialists from a selection of the most interesting papers from the great wealth of original publications.
Why choose Current Opinion in Molecular Therapeutics?
Current Opinion in Molecular Therapeutics is designed to provide an overview of the most important developments across this field of research and saves you from having to hunt through the proliferation of scientific literature.
Throughout the course of a year the journal highlights relevant progress made in gene therapy, vaccines, oligonucleotides, siRNA, gene vectors, genomics and proteomics .
EACH ISSUE CONTAINS
Paper and Patent alerts
Commentary on a selection of recently published papers and patents, identified as being of particular interest.
Web alert
A selection of World Wide Web sites relevant to the contents of Current Opinion in Molecular Therapeutics is included in each issue.
Editorial overview
Short overviews in which an area of interest to the pharmaceutical industry is critically reviewed in the context of recent developments.
Reviews
Concise reviews in which authors present recent developments in their subject, emphasizing the aspects that, in their opinion, are most important. In addition, the authors provide short annotations to the cited papers that they consider to be the most interesting from all those published in their topic. Papers chosen by an author as being 'of special interest' or 'of outstanding interest' are clearly identified in the reference list at the end of each review.
Drug profiles
Expert commentary on the scientific and commercial potential of selected drugs in clinical trials in the form of drug profiles. A drug profile is a review of the available literature (scientific and commercial) and acts as an expert guide to the bibliography, highlighting references of particular interest. Opinion on the drug’s potential, with a personal viewpoint on its therapeutic and economic viability, are included. Further information on these drugs appears in Thomson Reuters' Investigational Drugs database (IDdb) and Thomson Pharma platform.
Annual indexes
In the last issue of each volume, cumulative indexes of contents, subjects and authors are provided.
Current Opinion in Molecular Therapeutics contains contributions from internationally recognized leaders of their fields. All contributions are invited and peer-reviewed by an Editorial Board of distinguished members of the scientific community.
