Show joint capital or current accounts for partnerships in Accounts Production Advanced

  1. For the partners whose accounts you want to show combined, make sure you've posted their share of equity to the capital and/or current accounts 1 and 2.
  2. Open the partnership accounts in the
    Reports
    tab.
  3. To show joint capital accounts, take the following steps.
    1. In the Report Structure, go to
      Standard Partnership Accounts
      ,
      Financial Statements
      ,
      Notes to the Financial Statements
      , then
      Capital account
      .

    2. Right-click
      Capital account values
      , then select
      Properties
      from the context menu.
    3. Select
      XML Source
      .
    4. Delete the existing code and replace it with the code in our Joint Capital Account Values text file. 
    5. Select
      OK
      to save the change and update the accounts.
    6. If you want to combine the drawings analysis, right-click
      Capital account drawings analysis
      , select
      Properties
      from the context menu, then replace the XML Source with the code in our Joint Capital Account Drawings Analysis text file.
    7. Select
      OK
      to save the change and update the accounts.
  4. To show joint current accounts, take the following steps.
    1. In the Report Structure, go to
      Standard Partnership Accounts
      ,
      Financial Statements
      ,
      Notes to the Financial Statements
      , then
      Current account
      .
    2. Right-click
      Current account values
      , then select
      Properties
      from the context menu.
    3. Select
      XML Source
      .
    4. Delete the existing code and replace it with the code in our Joint Current Account Values text file. 
    5. Select
      OK
      to save the change and update the accounts.
    6. If you want to combine the drawings analysis, right-click
      Current account drawings analysis
      , select
      Properties
      from the context menu, then replace the XML Source with the code in our Joint Current Account Drawings Analysis.
    7. Select
      OK
      to save the change and update the accounts.
The following example shows how the partnership accounts will be updated if you chose to combine capital accounts. Accounts Production Advanced shows Partners 1 and Partner 2's names and their combined amounts in column 1, deletes column 2, and turns off the total column. You'll get similar results for current accounts.
 Extract from the Financial Statements report for a partnership in Accounts Production Advanced. It shows tables of figures under two headings: Capital account and Capital account drawings analysis. Each table has two columns, a description and an amount. The total of the amounts is given for each heading. Rather than show separate columns, this shows combined amounts for two partners: Mr G and Mrs D Jones.
