Error: Web Service Error: Check log for details in Accounts Production Advanced

Scenario

You may get the following error message when you work in Accounts Production Advanced.

Error: Web Service Error: Check log for details.

Solution 1: Make sure the rounding account is set

  1. With the client open, select the
    Journals
    tab and make sure the rounding account has been set in each period.
  2. If the rounding account is empty, select the ellipsis button and choose a code from the list.

Solution 2: Check the codes in each accounting period are consistent within the Entity Structure

  1. Select
    Entity Setup
    , then
    Entity Structure
    .
  2. Select the client in the list, and make note of the
    Code
    .
  3. Go to the Entity Structure for each accounting period and make sure the code is the same in each one.
  4. If the code differs in any period, change it.
  5. If you're asked to rebuild comparatives, select
    No
    .

Solution 3: Run a script on your database

The following steps should only be taken if Solutions 1 and 2 failed. They should only be carried out by your organisation's IT Professional. These steps will not work if you use Digita Virtual Office. In this case, you'll need to contact Digita Customer Support to ask them to run the script on your database.
  1. Use the Digita Database Back Up Tool to make a backup of your databaseĀ on your organisation's server (if you run Digita applications installed on a network) or the Main Machine (if you run Digita on a standalone installation).
  2. Download our Database Management script zip file.
  3. Run the script on your database.
