Enter a Terminal Loss Claim in Corporation Tax

Learn how to enter details of a terminal loss claim in Digita Corporation Tax for a company that has more than one accounting period.
  1. In the toolbar, select
    Client Summary
    .
  2. In the Client Summary pane, select
    Company Details
    .
  3. Select the
    Status
    tab.
  4. In the
    Company cessation date
    field, select the end date of the latest accounting period.
  5. Select
    OK
    .
  6. In the main menu, select
    Accounts
    , then
    Adjusted profits
    .
  7. In the Adjusted Profit for Chargeable Period dialog, enter the losses in the
    Amount
    column of the
    Profit/(loss) per accounts
    row.
  8. Select
    OK
    .
  9. In the main menu, select
    Accounts
    , and then
    Losses
    ,
    Deficits
    and
    Excess Amounts
    .
  10. In the Client Summary pane, select
    Company Details
    .
    The
    Terminal Relief
    button is only shown for clients that have more than one accounting period.
  11. Review the details in the Terminal Loss Relief for Chargeable Period window, then select
    Close
    .
  12. Select
    OK
    .
  13. In the main menu, select
    Accounts
    , then
    Additional Information
    .
  14. Enter an explanatory note, such as:
    Company cessation date: dd/mm/yyyy with a terminal loss claim of £0,000.00 dating back to dd/mm/yyyy. We therefore expect a refund of £0,000.00
    .
  15. Select
    OK
    .
  16. In the Client Summary pane, select
    Company Details
    .
  17. On the
    Other Information
    tab, mark the
    For an earlier period
    checkbox.
  18. Select
    OK
    .
  19. View the amount in box 45 of the CT600.
