Error: failed to save program to cache file in Personal Tax

Scenario

You may get the following error message when you create a report in Personal, Business and Trust Tax.
Error message
Failed to save program to cache file.

Solution

  1. Close all Digita applications.
  2. Open Windows Explorer and go to
    C:\ProgramData\Digita\SharedData\
    note
    The
    ProgramData
    folder is usually hidden. To access it, enter the path in the address bar use the show hidden files option.
  3. Rename the
    SharedData
    folder.
    note
    For example, add
    -old
    to the end of the folder name.
  4. Open Personal, Business and Trust Tax.

When you next open Personal, Business and Trust Tax, the application will re-create the
SharedData
folder with the appropriate permissions. You should then be able to run the report without the cache file error.
