Error: Inconsistent duplicate fact value when filing from Digita Suite
When filing with HMRC, you may get the error: "Inconsistent duplicate fact value - Raw Materials/Finished Goods/Merchandise/Work in Progress/Inventories/Production Supplies."
This error usually appears when there is a discrepancy between the opening figure in the current year and the closing figure in the prior year inventories codes within the iXBRL Detailed P&L.
For example, the Opening raw materials figure in 2018 is (100) but the Closing raw materials figure in 2017 is 99 which means this would reject with this error 'Inconsistent duplicate facts core: RawMaterials'. Note one of the figures is in brackets and one is not, this is intentional and if you have both figures in brackets or not in brackets this will be causing the issue so you'll need to review your postings to rectify.
To resolve this you will need to do one of the following:
Review your Trial Balance within the list of reports, check the TB to see which figure is rounding incorrectly.
- Go toFinancial Period, thenConfigurationandAccountsto search for the code.
- Double-click on the code, tick theRound Independentlycheckbox, then selectOKand rerun the report.
- If the closing balance doesn't match the opening balance in the trial balance a posting will need to be done to ensure these match exactly.
If you get this rejection message but upon reviewing the figures in the accounts they all look to match, then follow these instructions to make sure you're up to date with your template as this is an old issue that has since been resolved.
- Log into Accounts Production Advanced (APA) as the Administrator.
- Select theTemplate Entitiestab where you will see a list of your master clients.
- You should have a master client in the list calledPractice UK FRS102 Masterwhich needs to be on at least version 13.
- If the record is not in the list, let Support know. If the record is on less than version 13, run theContent Downloadsvia theToolsdrop-down menu to update your master client to the latest template.
- Open the entity and enter the password when prompted (the default password is 'DoNotDelete').
- Run the report within theReportstab you are working on within your actual client e.g. FRS 102 Section 1a Small Entities.
- Within the Report Structure, locate theiXBRL detailed profit and loss accountelements.
- Ensure they are not in bold, if either are right-click on them and selectRevert To Template.
- You'll need to republish the template to save the changes via theFinancial Period Templatedrop-down menu, then selectPublish Current Period as a Template.
- SelectYesto both questions when prompted to republish the master client.
- Open any FRS102 clients in your database, then select theUpdatebutton.
- Once the client has been updated to the latest version, rerun the client report and ensure theiXBRL detailed profit and loss accountelements within theReport Structureare not in bold.
- If it is in bold, right-clicking on it and selectRevert to Template.
