Mandatory email metadata preferences

As of 5.6, we have introduced the ability to make a user's email preference metadata mandatory, ensuring they do not miss out on any emails sent that are dependent on this metadata.
Once the metadata rules are set up as shown above, navigate to your profile dropdown>
System admin
:
The
System admin
screen opens. Within the
System admin
screen, navigate to
System settings
>
Metadata
:
The
Metadata
screen opens. Within the
Metadata
screen, select the metadata you wish to update:
You can now edit that piece of metadata. Within this screen, you see an option called
Mandatory in email preferences
:
Select the
Mandatory in email preferences
check box and select
Save
.
This will make the metadata a required field.
Now, when a user is viewing their preferences via their drop-down menu >
My preferences
, the metadata you have set up will now be mandatory (denoted by the red star):
Now, if a user tries to save their preferences without selecting the required fields, an error message displays:
Forcing them to select the relevant metadata.
