User roles and permissions - Administrators

Admin roles

To enhance security and reduce risk, multiple system and site admin roles are available.

System Admin
Default system admins have access to the System Admin option in the profile menu. This gives full access to instance settings, all content and all features enabled by HighQ support.
System User Admin
This admin role can administer users and groups at the system level. In other areas, such as site content or site settings, this role has the same permissions as any non-admin role.
A system user admin can see site names,
but does not have access to site content

In the System admin section, a system user admin can:
  • access Org admin, User admin (with some restrictions), Group Admin, Exception domains, Basic user permissions
  • see the Site list to which a user has access
  • create basic and internal users
  • manage Contract Express users and groups
A system user admin
cannot
:
  • assign the system admin role, system config admin or system user admin role to a user
  • Proxy login as a user
  • view a user profile or their recent activity
  • access Message Center, System notices, Task templates, iSheets admin, Image library, Manage tools, System vocabulary, Customize, File / File types, File Library, DMS Files, System settings, API application registration, System audit/reports, Global navigation, System dashboards
  • create new sites or manage sites
  • see sites (in site lists, etc.) that require permission to view
  • access system reports from the profile menu
  • Auto login cannot be set up for a user with this role
System Config Admin
This admin role complements the system user admin role and can administer all features except users and groups. In other areas, this role has the same permissions as any non-admin role.
A system config admin can see site names,
but does not have access to site content

  • Message Center, System notices (with some restrictions), Task templates, iSheets admin, Image library, Manage tools, System vocabulary, Customize, File / File types, File Library, DMS Files, System settings, API application registration, Global navigation, System dashboards
A system config admin
cannot
:
  • create new sites or manage sites,
  • see sites (in site lists, etc.) that require permission to view,
  • access Org admin, User admin, Group admin, Exception domains or Basic user permissions or System audits/reports in System Admin
  • access some areas of System notices
  • access system reports from the profile menu
  • Auto login cannot be set up for a user with this role
Site Admin
Site admins have access to the site Admin module. This gives access to all site settings.
Specialised site admin roles
Specialised admin roles are available, such as:
  • Form administrators can access and edit forms; while a Form admin is restricted to actions such as changing the style of a form and viewing responses to a form.
  • Member admins can add new users to a site, and then manage only those users they added themselves.
  • Content admins can access and manage any content on the site
  • Reporting admins can manage audits and reports
  • Q&A admins
    can administer the Q&A module; however, they cannot be a member of a bidder organisation.
