Set up two-factor authentication for your Thomson Reuters Account

Setup overview

Use the steps detailed in this article to set up two-factor authentication methods for your account.

Before you start

  • This is the new verification process to replace multi-factor authentication (MFA)
  • Decide which two-factor authentication option to choose.
  • To use the Auth0 Guardian app or another preferred app, complete the account setup steps on a computer or tablet so you can scan the pairing code with your device.

Verification options

You can access our products safely and securely using one or more of the methods listed below.
  • Auth0 Guardian mobile app.
    The only option that includes push notifications. The app is free on the Apple App Store and on Google Play for Android. If you aren't receiving push notifications, please refer to your device manufacturer's support resources. (Apple notifications or Android notifications)

    Your device must allow notifications from Auth0 Guardian in order for the push notifications to work.
  • Other app.
    Use another app from Microsoft, Google, Symantec, Duo, or LastPass. These won't use push notifications and can be used to generate login codes only.

    The Thomson Reuters Authenticator app will work but will not use push notifications.
  • Biometrics.
    Use a thumbprint or facial recognition feature on your device when you use an application on a mobile device.
  • Security key
    . Use a hardware key to enter a code at sign-in.
  • Text message.
    Receive a text with a code to enter at sign-in.
  • Phone call.
    Receive a phone call with a code to enter at sign-in.
