Offline mode

Offline Mode allows you to access CS Professional Suite desktop applications without having an active internet connection. This feature is useful to perform many actions that require access to the local applications without needing an active internet connection. However, features that require an active internet connection (such as web-based integrations, CS Connect, e-filing.) will be not available in Offline Mode.

Step 1: Retrieve the Temporary Password for Offline Mode

Method 1: If a staff member of your firm has access to the application, a temporary password can be generated in the application.
  • In the application, go to the
    Temporary Password for Offline Mode
    dialog to generate a temporary password.
  • In Accounting CS or Practice CS, go to
    Help
    , then
    Generate Offline Temporary Password
    .
  • In UltraTax CS or FileCabinet CS, go to the
    Misc
    tab in the
    Help
    , then
    Repair
    window and select the
    Generate temp password
    button.
  • Select the
    Generate Temporary Password
    button.
  • Select the
    Copy
    button.
  • Provide the password to another staff member of your firm.
Method 2: Contact our Support team to receive a temporary password.

The temporary password expires after 15 minutes.

Step 2: Use the Temporary Password for Offline Mode

  • Without an active internet connection, open a CS Professional Suite desktop application.
  • At the Something Went Wrong page, select the
    Work offline
    link.
  • Enter the temporary password that was provided.
  • Select the
    Continue
    button.
