Show a VOID watermark for 0 dollar checks

Use the following steps to add a VOID watermark to a check layout to display when the net check amount is zero, such as when you're printing check stubs for checks that were direct deposited.
  1. Select
    Setup
    ,
    Bank Accounts
    , then verify you selected the correct client.
  2. Select the
    Layouts
    tab and make a note of what's selected in the
    Payroll
    field.
  3. Select
    File
    , then
    Layout Designer
    and open the
    Payroll
    folder.
  4. Double-click the payroll check layout you made a note of earlier.
  5. Select
    Insert
    , then
    Text Box
    .
  6. Select and drag to create a space for the watermark to appear on the check region.
  7. Enter the word VOID, or another word that you want to display on the check.
  8. Select the cursor icon on the toolbar, then select somewhere on the layout that's not your text box.
  9. Select the text box you inserted to select it.
  10. Select
    Format
    , then
    Text
    and change the font, size, and color (select something different than black).
  11. In the Transparency field, move the slider to the right to increase the transparency of the text.
  12. Select
    OK
    to close the window.
  13. Select and drag the border of the text box to change its size, then move it so the word VOID displays in the desired location.
  14. Select
    Insert
    , then
    Conditional Expression
    .
  15. Insert a conditional expression using a variable that says
    [Payroll.Check.NetPay.NetCheckAmount] = 0.00
    .
    If true, print element; if false, complete condition
    .
  16. Select
    OK
    . The application notifies you when it's applied the condition.
  17. Select
    File
    , then
    Save
    to save your changes to the layout. If you choose
    File
    , then
    Save As
    , remember to update the
    Bank Accounts
    screen with the new layout.
