Sent to data center
An electronically filed 940, 941, 943, 944, or 945 may show a status of "Sent to data center" and not change in any of these scenarios: there was a connection interruption, the Client ID or EIN was changed after submitting the form, or the return was immediately rejected for insufficient funds or missing information.

Solution

To get the status unstuck, do one of these:
  • Change the Client ID or EIN back to the original ID. Acknowledgements are associated with Client IDs.
  • Remove the return from the Manage Electronic Forms window, and re-process and re-transmit the forms.
