Version 2022.4.2 release notes

We released version 2022.4.2 on January 23, 2023 with the following changes.
After July 12, 2022, Microsoft will no longer support SQL Server 2012 or earlier. Therefore, as of the v.2022.2.0
Accounting CS
release, scheduled for late June 2022, your firm must have SQL Server 2014 or higher installed on the servers that run
Accounting CS
. See Discontinued support for Microsoft SQL Server 2012 for details and steps you can take to continue using
Accounting CS
without interruption.

General

We've addressed an issue that, in certain circumstances, prevented the Data Sharing Updates window from displaying for certain staff members when opening the application.

Workpapers CS

We've updated the Tax Return engagement binder templates for the 2022 tax year. The engagement binder templates include predefined tax-related folders that are created for new tax engagements, when added in the Engagement Binders screen with Tax Return selected in the
Type
field and either UltraTax CS or GoSystem Tax selected in the
Source
field.

General - Payroll

Maine.
The Maine Department of Labor has increased the Unemployment program administrative fund (UPAF) rate to 0.15%, effective January 1, 2023. Accordingly, the rate defaults to 0.15% in the Unemployment Rate dialog (accessed via the Payroll Taxes tab of the Clients screen) for new client records and when new unemployment rate records are added to existing clients.

Payroll compliance

  • We've updated the years available for Corrected Forms 941-X, 943-X, 944-X, and 945-X to match the years available for Reconciliation Forms 94x (Idea Incubator #5927). Accounting CS stores up to four total years of year-specific reconciliation type forms.
  • Michigan locals. The City of Muskegon Heights now requires all employers to file Form W-2 Copy 1 electronically and will no longer accept paper copies of the form. Therefore, we have removed the Paper filing method and added the Internet method.
