We released version 2023.2.0 on June 22, 2023 with the following changes.
General
Microsoft ended support for the Windows 8.1 operating system on January 10, 2023. According to Microsoft, continuing to use this operating system may increase your exposure to security risks or impact your ability to meet compliance obligations. Therefore, after Accounting CS v.2023.2.0, we'll no longer allow you to install program updates on computers running Windows 8.1. We've also updated our system requirements page.
We've added a Learning Center link to the Resources portlet (available on the Home, Firm, Staff, and Client Dashboards).
Workpapers CS
We've made changes to the Onvio Documents portlet.
We added a Year column.
More files can be displayed at the same time.
Report Designer
We've added the
Custom
period indicator to the drop-down list in the
Period
field in Cell Properties, Row Properties, and Column Properties for accounting reports, workpaper reports, and financial statements (Idea Incubator #5207).
The
Custom
period indicator will calculate balances according to the date selections you make at print time, including the
Single
and
Range
date options (which are based on transaction dates, rather than posting period dates).
Reports
We've added the following financial statements that have an amount column set to the
Custom
period indicator, which will calculate balances according to the date selections you make at print time.
Balance Sheet - Custom
Income Statement - Custom
General - Payroll
We updated the workers' compensation limits for Ohio.
Payroll compliance
When overrides exist in the tabs on the Edit Payroll Tax Forms screen, a red dot indicator will display. Currently, the indicator only displays for Reconciliation and Payment form types (Idea Incubator #491).
We added nonfunctional Save overrides by period end date for the selected form types checkboxes in the Preferences tab of the Firm screen. We'll add the functionality for these checkboxes in a future release (Idea Incubator #328).
In the Manage Electronic Forms window on the Process Electronic Forms screen, we added an EIN field. This field will only contain data for files that are processed after applying the v.2023.2.0 update. We also updated the Electronic File Status report and Manage Electronic Forms - Condensed report to include additional information, like the EIN.
In the Process Internet/Magnetic Files screen, we added a Separate Client Files option. When turned on, Accounting CS will create a separate internet file for each selected client instead of a single bulk file that includes all the selected clients.
We added a Prompt when multiple jurisdictions are selected in the Process Internet/Magnetic Files screen option in the Preferences tab of the Firm screen. When this option is turned on, the application will prompt you if more than one jurisdiction file is selected after you select Create Files in the Process Internet/Magnetic Files screen.
