Manage addresses for employees and vendors

Keeping addresses up to date ensures correct tax calculations and proper delivery of important documents. Accounting CS lets you store up to 3 address types for each employee or vendor: Business, Home, and Other.

Set up addresses

  1. Go to
    Setup
    Employees
    , or
    Setup
    Vendors
    .
  2. Select the
    Main
    tab.
  3. In the Addresses section, select
    Selection
    .
  4. Choose the address type you need.

Address types

  1. Resident address
    (for employees):
    • Determines which taxes apply to the employee.
    • Also known as the taxing address.
  2. Mailing address
    :
    1. Where you'll send payroll tax forms (W-2 or 1099).
    2. Displays on W-2 and 1099 forms.

Set different mailing and resident addresses for employees

  1. Select
    Setup
    ,
    Employees
    , then the
    Main
    tab.
  2. For W-2 mailing address:
    1. Select
      Other
      as address type.
    2. Enter the address.
    3. Mark the
      Mailing address
      checkbox.
    4. Use
      Address verification
      to validate.
  3. For resident (taxing) address:
    1. Select
      Home
      as address type.
    2. Mark the
      Resident address
      checkbox.
    3. Use
      Address verification
      to validate.
  4. Select
    Enter
    to save.

Set up vendor mailing address

  1. Select
    Setup
    ,
    Vendors
    , then the
    Main
    tab.
  2. Select
    Other
    as address type.
  3. Enter the address.
  4. Mark the
    Mailing address
    checkbox.
  5. Select
    Enter
    to save.
