Use automatic pay distribution percentages

You can use automatic pay distribution percentages to divide an employee's pay, deductions, and taxes between different departments based on set percentages. This is perfect for employees who regularly split their time between departments in a consistent way.
  1. Select
    Setup
    ,
    Employees
    , then the
    Main
    tab.
  2. Go to the Locations and Departments section.
  3. Mark the
    Enable auto pay distribution by %
    checkbox.
  4. Enter the percentage for each department.
Example
Your grocery store client has an employee who always works 75% of his time in the bakery and 25% of his time in the deli.
You can set up the employee in the Locations and Departments section to have the application automatically split all distributions between the correct locations and departments during payroll check entry for the employee. This includes the gross pay, deductions, taxes, employer contributions, and employer taxes.
When you enter payroll:
  1. Enter the total hours as usual.
  2. The system automatically splits everything:
    • Hours
    • Pay
    • Deductions
    • Taxes
    • Employer contributions
  3. Select Options next to any payroll item. You'll see the 75%/25% split applied.
