Major Fund Determination Worksheet

This template assists the accountant in determining (and documenting) the major funds of a governmental unit, as defined in GASBS No. 34, paragraph 76, as amended by
You must enter the total asset, liability, revenue, and expenditure/expense balances for each governmental and enterprise fund. The workbook uses these balances to perform a two-step quantitative test to determine which funds must be considered major. (The general fund is always considered a major fund, regardless of its individual balances.) You can report any other governmental or enterprise fund as a major fund if government officials believe the fund is particularly important to financial statement users.
