Workpaper sign offs

Sign off methods

You can sign off a single workpaper or multiple workpapers on the Workpapers tab.
In the Manage menu, you can choose a Signoff type and Date, or to Delete the sign-off.
If you use the right-click context menu, you can only choose the Signoff type.

Sign off types

There are 5 types of workpaper sign off:
  • Preparer
  • Reviewer
  • Reviewer 2
  • Reviewer 3
  • Reviewer 4
If you have the Modify Signoff Types permission from the Setup permission group, you can:
  • Modify the description of any sign off type.
  • Choose to make any of these workpaper sign-off types active or inactive.
  • Choose whether Engagement Manager will show a warning message when a workpaper already has a particular sign off type.

Events on sign-off

  • The following details are recorded in the Workpaper Properties:
    • Name of the user who has signed off
    • Workpaper that has been signed off
    • Date of sign-off
    • Signoff type
  • The Name recorded is the Name associated with your
    Engagement Manager
     user account. You can't sign off as another person.
  • The Status Dashboard on the Status tab is updated.

Warnings of edits after sign-off

  • If you or another user edits a workpaper after it has received sign-off,
    Engagement Manager
     will show a warning icon in the Warning column of the grid on the Workpapers tab.
  • You can remove a warning if you have the Clear Warning permission.
  • You can turn off these warnings for each sign-off type if you have the Modify Signoff Types permission.

Change a sign off

If you have the necessary permissions from the Sign-off permission group, you can:
  • Overwrite a sign off
  • Adjust sign off date and time
  • Delete sign off

Monitor sign-offs

You can use the following widgets on the Status Dashboard to monitor sign-offs for an engagement:
  • Workpaper Completion By Individual Sign Off
  • Workpaper Completion By Highest Sign Off
