Troubleshoot client data from CSD File

When sending client data to an email recipient or to a file, a backup file is saved in a CSD (Creative Solutions Data) file format.
To restore a CSD file, you must have installed the same application and year of the application that was used to email/create the CS backup. The email recipient/person restoring the CSD file must also have the same application and year installed.
If experiencing issues while restoring the CSD file, verify the following:
  • Ensure that the correct version of the application is installed (e.g, UltraTax CS or Fixed Asset CS). For example, if restoring a CSD file created using 2019 UltraTax CS, the same application must also be installed wherever the file is being restored.
  • Select the CSLP.exe file to run as an administrator. This file is used to open CSD files. More Information
