Transfer template items to existing clients

You can set up a template in Fixed Assets CS that includes common, client-specific setup options that copy to all new clients added to the application.
Follow these steps to transfer these template items to existing clients.

You can only transfer items on the Calculation tab of the Options window to existing clients. Items on the Asset List and Miscellaneous tabs that you configure will affect any clients you create after you set up the template client. This doesn't affect existing clients. For example, if you add or remove a specific column on the Asset List tab, the column will appear in new clients. The change won't affect your existing clients, even if you use the Update Clients option.
  1. Select
    Setup
    , then
    System Configuration
    .
  2. Select the
    Template
    tab.
  3. Select
    Update Clients
    in the Mass update section.
  4. Select the tax year for which you're updating common, client-specific setup options for a client or clients.
  5. Select
    Continue
    .
  6. Mark the checkboxes for the template items you want to copy to existing clients for the selected tax year.
  7. Double-click each client you want to copy the template items to. This moves the clients to the Clients to update pane.
  8. Select
    Update
    .
The selected template items are now available in the specified year for all clients listed in the Clients to update pane. The template items are also available for these clients in each year they're closed. To make the template items available in prior years, or in future years to which the client hasn't yet been closed, transfer the template items to the prior or future year.
