Depreciation treatments required for all SC PPT assets

The SC treatment needs to be entered for South Carolina Personal Property Tax returns.

Associations required for all SC PPT assets

  • Situs:
    Each asset needs to have
    South Carolina
    selected in the
    Situs
    field to transfer to the South Carolina Personal Property Tax return.
  • Location ID#:
    Enter the account number for the location filing the property tax return. A property tax return is created for each unique account number and county entered. This information transfers to the
    Property File Number
    on Form PT-100, and to the
    SID Number
    field on Form PT-300. The maximum number of characters that transfer to Form PT-100 and Form PT-300 are 10 and 13, respectively.
  • County - SC:
    Select the county in which the asset is located from the dropdown list.
  • Form type - SC:
    Select the return type for the location filing the property tax return. If this field is blank, UltraTax CS defaults to PT-100 as the return type for this asset.
  • Plant / operation name:
    Enter the
    plant / operation name
    where the asset is located. A
    plant / operation schedule
    is created for each unique account number, county, and
    plant / operation name
    entered. This information is applicable only for Form PT-300.
  • PPT type - SC:
    Select the personal property type for the asset from the dropdown list. The property types and the forms they transfer to are listed in the following table.

    Enter this information when you use the
    Land property type
    to transfer the amount to the applicable schedule related to Form PT-300.
  • Lots:
    Enter this information when you use the
    Land property type
    to transfer the amount to the applicable schedule related to Form PT-300.
  • Improvement type - SC:
    Select the appropriate type of improvement from the dropdown list when you use the Buildings and improvement, Leasehold improvements, or Pollution control property type. Current-year additions will transfer to the appropriate field on Form PT-300, Schedule X.
