Data Exists dialog

The
Data Exists
 window opens when you merge asset data between two years. This can be helpful if a client is closed forward, assets are entered, and then a change is needed in the previous year. Once you move the client back to the processing period and make the necessary change, you will see the following message when you select
File
, then
Select Period
 to Process and close to the next year.
When you select
Overwrite
, you will lose any changes you made in the current year and bring forward the change from the previous year. Select
Merge
 to keep depreciation changes and assets added and disposed of in both current and previous periods.

Fields & buttons

Select
Overwrite
 to replace the next year's data with the current-year data.
Select this button to keep depreciation changes and assets added and disposed of in both current and previous periods.
