Print > Profile dialog

A profile is a feature that can save you time if you need to repeatedly print the same set of forms or reports for a client. It works much like a template by letting you pre-define the specific reports and forms you want, in the exact collation sequence, and with the specific print options that you choose. Then, whenever you select reports to print, you can select an existing profile as if it were a single report.
A batch print profile can be set up for each client for each tax year. Batch print profiles can be used when printing reports for multiple clients for a chosen tax year.
If you're licensed for and have installed UltraTax CS, you can choose to include any Fixed Assets CS print profile in the client and/or preparer collations of the tax return.
To open this window, select
Print
or
File
, then
Print
. In the Print window, select at least 1 report or form, then
Profile
. Use the Profile window to enter a name for a new profile, update the collation sequence for an existing profile, or delete an existing profile. For more information, see Creating and managing print profiles.

Special information

  • Print profiles are client specific.
  • If you use the template: The template profiles are automatically copied to all new clients and to any existing clients who don't have print profiles set up. You can transfer print profiles to existing clients. For detailed information about the options that are copied from the template's print profiles, see Print profiles: print options copied from the template to each new and existing client in Fixed Assets CS.
  • Advancing to a new fiscal year: Print profiles are saved in Fixed Assets CS on a year-by-year basis. All profiles saved specifically for a client will be saved when you advance the client to a new fiscal year. For details about the print options that are copied when you advance a client to a new fiscal year, see Print profiles: advancing to a new fiscal year.
  • Most recently printed profile: This application-generated profile lets you modify the reports you just printed without resetting the print options or the print sequence. Modifying the most recently printed profile.

Fields & buttons

Displays the name of this profile (as selected from the Print window). This profile includes all of the forms and reports currently shown in the Selected pane of the Print window.

This shows the forms, reports, and custom reports currently selected for this profile.

Mark this checkbox to send all reports and forms from a print profile to a file drawer or to a PDF file as a single item. When this checkbox isn't marked, each report or form appears separately.
If you're licensed for and have installed UltraTax CS, mark this checkbox to include reports from the selected print profile in the client copy of the tax return.
If you're licensed for and have installed UltraTax CS, mark this checkbox to include reports from the selected print profile in the preparer copy of the tax return.
Mark this checkbox to designate the selected profile as a batch print profile. A batch print profile can be used when printing reports for multiple clients for a chosen tax year.
Select
Delete
to delete the currently selected profile from the open client's records.
Select
Update
to save your changes and return to the Print window.
Enter a name for this profile, and then select
Add
to save the information and return to the Print window.
