Import Spreadsheet window

Use the Import Spreadsheet window to import asset data from a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.

To open this window from the Asset List window for the appropriate client, select
Utilities
,
Import Asset Data
then
Excel spreadsheet
.

Browse
, find the spreadsheet that includes the client's asset data then select the file. After you select the file, the path to and name of the file display in the
File
field.
The name of each worksheet (tab) in the specified spreadsheet displays in this dropdown. Select the worksheet you will import asset data from.
Enter the row number for the column header in the worksheet. If the worksheet doesn't contain a header row, leave
0
in this field.
Fixed Assets CS automatically enters the number of the row after the header row in this read-only field.
Field mapping group box
Mapping columns establishes a link between the spreadsheet columns and the Fixed Assets CS data. This link causes the data to transfer from the spreadsheet to the appropriate field within Fixed Assets CS.
Select to create a column mapping for the data you are importing into the client. If this is the first time you are importing data for a Fixed Assets CS client, this option is selected for you and you'll need to set up the mapping.
If you already set up the mapping for the import, select
Use a previously defined mapping
then select the name of the previously defined mapping from the dropdown.
To delete a previously defined field mapping, select
Use a previously defined mapping
, select the mapping from the dropdown then select
Delete
.
