Acquire Image dialog

Use this window to acquire an image or to set preferences for scanning an image.
There are 2 ways to open this window:
  • In the
    Image
     tab of the
    Asset Detail
     window, select
    Acquire
    .
  • Select
    Setup
    , then
    Image Library
     to open the
    Image Library
     window, then select
    Acquire
    .

Fields and buttons

Lists all available resources from which you can get an image. This includes copying an image from a file or, if you accessed this window from the
Image
 tab, getting an image from the
Image Library
. The list also includes all TWAIN or WIA-compliant device (such as scanners and digital cameras) that's available to the computer.
Reduce image size on disk
: Mark this checkbox if you want to reduce the image's file size when saving it.
Optimize for black and white / color pages
: Fixed Assets CS stores reduced, scanned images differently if they are black and white or color.
  • Select
    Black and white pages
     if the original document is black and white or monochrome.
  • Select
    Color pages
     to retain the colors of the original document.
