Fields & buttons

Mark this checkbox if the current asset is a qualified farm SUV not subject to the addition (for current year) or subtraction (for disposed SUV) of federal section 179 expense for New York purposes. If marked, the SUV is not subject to truck / van or luxury auto depreciation limitations outlined in the New York City SUV Limitation Schedule, available on the New York City Department of Finance website.
Assets placed in service prior to 2004 for which an additional adjustment was made to New York income should be re-classified to Sport utility vehicle.
For taxpayers who are not eligible farmers, mark this checkbox if the SUV is subject to limitations for SUVs built upon car chassis.
If the taxpayer is
not
an eligible farmer and this checkbox is
not
marked, the SUV is subject to slightly higher truck / van limitations.
Assets placed in service prior to 2004 that were classified as Listed property (Vehicle) and are SUVs should be re-classified as Sport utility vehicles. Once re-classified, limitations are applied to current-year depreciation calculated for the asset.
