Making client data accessible to multiple users of networked Fixed Assets CS
The folder where your clients are stored can be shared by multiple Fixed Assets CS users.
The application includes a security feature that prevents more than 1 person at a time from accessing a client. If you try to access a client that someone else has open, Fixed Assets CS shows an error message with the network ID of the current user working on that client.
- The network location needs to support long file names. If it doesn't, before going ahead, ask your firm's network administrator about setting up the network so user IDs are 3 characters or less.
- Make sure that the Fixed Assets CS desktop setup application is installed on each network workstation where you want to use the application.
