Send client data, custom methods and reports, and system settings to a file

You can send client data, custom methods and reports, or system settings (asset labels, data locations, import maps, and status system events) to an encrypted file that you can password-protect.
If your email service doesn't support Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) protocol, use this procedure to save the documents to file, then attach the files to an email message.
If your email service does support MAPI protocol, you can select
File
,
Send to
, then
Email Recipient
.
  1. Select
    File
    ,
    Send to
    , then
    File
    .
  2. Make a choice from the
Clients, Custom Reports, Custom Methods, or System Settings
    list.
  3. Highlight an item from the Available pane, then use
    Select
to move it to the Selected pane.
  4. If you want to password-protect the file, enter a
    Password
    and
    Verify
    it.
  5. Use
    Modify Destination
to specify the destination for the file, if needed.
  6. If you've chosen Clients from
Clients, Custom Reports, Custom Methods, or System Settings
    , you can mark the
    "Check out" selected clients
checkbox to indicate you're taking the client's data home or to another locations.
  7. Select
    OK
when you've made all our selections.
Fixed Assets CS creates the file, places it in the specified location, and notifies you of the name of the file and folder in which it was placed.
You can now open a new email message using Gmail (or another non-MAPI-supporting service), and manually attach the file you created.
