Use Add to GoFileRoom button to store received Outlook email messages

We don’t recommend this method for efficiency. We recommend the drag and drop method as the most efficient way to add emails and attachments to GoFileRoom.
You'll need the GoFileRoom Upload Documents Service before adding Outlook emails to GoFileRoom using this method.
Follow these steps to store received Outlook email messages using the
Add to GoFileRoom
button on the Outlook ribbon.
  1. In Outlook, open the email you want to add to GoFileRoom.
  2. Select the
    Add to GoFileRoom
    button in the GoFileRoom tab of the ribbon.
  3. Choose either
    Add as single fie (.MSG)
    or
    Add as separate files
    .
    • Add as single fie (.MSG)
      : If you select this option, the email goes to GoFileRoom as an MSG file. The imported file maintains its email characteristics in GoFileRoom. You'll be able to reply to the imported email, forward it, view the recipient list, and so on.
    • Add as separate files
      : If you select this option, the email imports as separate files for the email and any attachments. You'll be able to index each component as a separate document. Attachments go in their native format.

    • You'll need to sign in to GoFileRoom the 1st time you use the Outlook add-in per computer session. The add-in keeps you signed in for 24 hours if you haven’t restarted your computer. You'll need to sign in again after you restart your computer.
    • Adding the email message and its attachments as separate files enables users to index the attachments and message body as individual documents in GoFileRoom.
  4. Enter index information for the email (and attachments, if adding the email and attachments as separate files).
  5. Select
    Save
    .
