File separate returns from married filing joint return

This feature's known as separate returns from joint data (SRJD) enables you to generate 2 married filing separate returns from data entered in the married filing joint return.
With these 3 returns, you can determine the most advantageous filing status for your taxpayers. Federal data transfers from the joint return to the separate returns based on the ownership code.
Items coded as:
  • T transfer directly to the taxpayer’s return.
  • S transfer directly to the spouse’s return.
  • J are allocated 50/50 and transfer to both returns.
